There are lots of opportunities to volunteer with the Equity Service Centres over the year. The best opportunities are available directly through the individual centres, however there are cross-centre opportunities as well.

Semesterly Drop-in Facilitator Training

Many of the Equity Service Centres operate drop-in hours where volunteers facilitate community drop-in space. Facilitators can attend a group drop-in training at the beginning of each semester or connect with the Equity & Campaigns Organiser at equity@rsuonline.ca if they miss the training session.

General Assemblies

The Equity Service Centres host semesterly General Assemblies for all volunteers to discuss common interests, campaigns and recommendations for the Centres. This is a great opportunity for engaged volunteers to become even more involved.

Ryerson Students’ Union Committees

The Ryerson Students’ Union has several open committees that focus on different areas of the students’ union:

Members who do not belong to specific Equity Service Centres but wish to work as allies in tackling racism, sexism, ableism, transphobia, homophobia and other forms of oppression are encouraged to get involved with the Equity & Social Justice Committee.
